Dear Broken Ones,
I hinted in previous updates that Broken Tales was far from over. I'm excited to announce that at the end of May, two years after the original campaign, we'll launch a new Broken Tales expansion called Broken Tales: Lost Stories here on Kickstarter!
Lost Stories
Lost Stories is a brand-new expansion brought to you by the same team behind the other books, featuring:
New Scenarios based on fairytales the Community has been vocal about, and a few stories we really wanted to break (yes, there’s also Santa Claus).
The Nemeses, new super-villains summoned by The One Who Plots in the Shadows to expand or continue the Broken Tales campaign, with new locations, new story hooks, and more.
A novel cast of Hunters, many of whom will be exclusive to campaign backers. You’ll get some hints from the images on this page.
New Dark Presences & Treasures of the Order from stories we didn’t explore in the original books.
The City of the Order, Rome. A new mega-location the Hunters can visit between assignments, rich with NPCs, story hooks, and intrigue!
And much more!
This is not all. By popular demand, we’ll also have some lavish accessories: custom Broken Tales dice and the Storyteller’s Screen!
We won’t spoil everything right away, so you should do two things now:
Sign up on this landing page to express your interest. You will immediately receive one of the new Hunters - actually, a double Huntress - inspired by the Snow Queen, Miss Snow & Lady Storm. You'll notice right away that we're experimenting with brand new mechanics.
Every week, we'll send out a new preview from the Lost Story campaign to those who subscribe to our newsletter (if you're not there already, signing up now will get you there).
Last but not least, Lost Stories will give people who missed the first campaign a chance to catch up on all Broken Tales content. However, be aware that some items are extremely limited in stock, so make sure to inform your interested friends to act quickly.

Un nuovo cast di Cacciatori, molti dei quali saranno un'esclusiva dei backer della campagna. Le immagini di questa pagina vi daranno già qualche indizio.
Nuove Oscure Presenze e Tesori dell'Ordine provenienti da favole che non abbiamo esplorato nei libri precedenti.
La città dell'Ordine, Roma. Un nuovo mega-luogo che i Cacciatori possono visitare tra un incarico e l'altro, ricco di PNG, hook narrativi e intrighi!

Ma non è tutto. A grande richiesta, avremo anche alcuni sontuosi accessori: i dadi di Broken Tales e lo Schermo del Narratore!

Dear Broken Ones,
I've received confirmation from both GamesQuest and backers that the final parcels for Australia and New Zealand have been sent and are arriving safely in the hands of backers.
This completes the fulfillment of Broken Tales, and I believe it is time to officially wrap up the campaign.
We have addressed all issues that we are aware of; if something is still not resolved, please contact me at [email protected] and I will look into it.
I'd like to thank you on behalf of the entire team; it's been a wild ride. We learned a lot, made friends along the way, and delivered what we believe is a truly great game.
Is it really over, then?
Well, nope.
While this update marks the end of fulfillment, it is far from the end of Broken Tales (or the updates).
Second, we have submitted both books to the ENNIEs Awards, and we will submit the Core Book at the UKGE 2023 Awards. When the time for the popular vote comes, we hope we can count on your support. Winning a spot in a relevant category can make all the difference in the world for a small company like ours.
Finally, I can confirm that the Broken Tales publishing line will be continued! While I understand that some of you have only recently received the previous books, this past year we have been working hard behind the scenes to expand the world of Broken Tales in new and exciting directions. More information will be released soon.

Ho ricevuto conferma sia da GamesQuest che dai backer che gli ultimi pacchi per l'Australia e la Nuova Zelanda sono stati spediti e stanno arrivando sani e salvi nelle mani dei rispettivi proprietari.
Questo completa ufficialmente la campagna di Broken Tales.
Vorrei ringraziarvi a nome di tutto il team; è stata una bella avventura. Abbiamo imparato molto, conosciuto amici lungo la strada e abbiamo realizzato un gioco davvero fantastico.
Finisce qui, quindi?
Beh, no.
Sebbene questo aggiornamento segni la fine delle consegne, è ben lontano dal rappresentare la fine di Broken Tales (o degli aggiornamenti).
In secondo luogo, abbiamo presentato entrambi i libri agli ENNIEs e presenteremo il Libro Base anche ai premi UKGE 2023, nonché al GdR dell’Anno. Quando arriverà il momento del voto popolare, speriamo di poter contare sul vostro sostegno. Accaparrarci una categoria importante può fare tutta la differenza del mondo per una piccola azienda come la nostra.
Infine, posso confermare che la linea editoriale diBroken Tales continuerà! Nell’ultimo anno abbiamo lavorato duramente dietro le quinte per espandere il mondo di Broken Tales in nuove direzioni. Ulteriori informazioni a breve...

The missing box has been found!

A quick update for Australians and New Zealanders: the missing box of The Broken Ones vinyls has been found (there was a mistake on the label), so all shipments can resume as planned. I've been told that shipping notifications will be sent out in the coming days.
Thank you for your patience; to be honest, this search was a little nerve-racking, but all is well that ends well.

An update on Australia/New Zealand fulfillment
I'm not going to skirt the issue: I have some bad news. To begin with, Aetherworks, the company in charge of the final leg of fulfillment in collaboration with GamesQuest, finally went through the stock after dealing with the backlog from previous campaigns. Two things you need to know:
All orders that can be filled with the available stock have my approval and can proceed (see point 2). I trust these should go forward in the next few days.
One box of The Broken Ones vinyl jackets appears to have gone missing somewhere along the way. I've been trying to figure out how that's even possible (we passed customs and everything was in order), so the most likely explanation is that the box was misplaced. GamesQuest is working with Aetherworks to see if the missing box appears. If it doesn't, things get complicated because that's the item for which we have fewer replacements. Needless to say, I'm extremely frustrated by the delays and the situation, which understandably irritates backers and makes us look bad for no fault of our own. If this is the result of the pros at work, I'll definitely reconsider how we ship games in the future. Unfortunately, our options for global fulfillment from within the EU are extremely limited.
If you’re a backer who should receive a copy of The Broken Ones as part of your order, I've asked that the shipments be held until we're certain this box has been lost. I should find out more about it soon. If that is the case, I’ll try to find a reasonable solution according to the stock we have available (we could recall some copies from somewhere else, so please be patient until I figure it out).
I will update you as soon as I know more.
Other fulfillment notes
Aside from Australia and New Zealand, almost every other backer should have their books by now. I've attempted to address every issue that has been raised (wrong addresses, replacements, etc.)
Please contact me if something has not been resolved.
Overall I’m happy to see that people have been pleased with the books, so keep sharing your loot on social media using the #BrokenTales hashtag so we can see it!
Devir has a large distribution network that includes Spain, Mexico, Chile, Argentina, Colombia, and the United States. I don't have any other information at the moment, and I'm not sure what their exact plans are, so keep an eye on their social channels for more information.
Also, inform your Spanish-speaking friends who may have missed the campaign!
Broken Tales in Spanish will launch later this year.
The Monad Echo SRD is available

We promised it last year, and while it took a little longer than expected, the Monad Echo SRD is now available under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license.
That means you can take the system that powers Broken Tales and other of our games and MAKE YOUR OWN. You can then sell or distribute it for free without any other obligations (read the License page on the PDF for the full story).
All backers who completed their survey should have received an email with a link to the Monad Echo SRD download. It's also available for free from our store and DriveThruRPG.
Liking the The Last of Us tv series? Oh boy, do we have the game for you. The Dead Air: Seasons Late Pledge is now open. If you missed the campaign, this is the only surefire way to get the game.
Aside from that, I'd like to use a small section of this update to recommend some friendly projects you might be interested in. Stranger Tales is the first, and it's a bizarre TTRPG/Boardgame hybrid involving scary stories and 1980s teenagers. One of the game's Adventures is being written by Alberto Tronchi, the author of Broken Tales.
The second campaign I'd like to highlight comes from our pals at Tin Hat Games. Do you long for the good old days when rules didn’t make much sense? It's finally time to exact your vengeance on a despotic DM! Check out OSR: Obsolete S****y Rules! (fair warning: it’s not for everyone).

Devir ha una vasta rete di distribuzione che comprende Spagna, Messico, Cile, Argentina, Colombia e Stati Uniti. Al momento non ho altre informazioni e non so quali siano i loro precisi piani di distribuzione, quindi tenete d'occhio i loro account social se desiderate ulteriori informazioni.

Broken Tales in spagnolo sarà rilasciato nel corso del 2023.

In the previous update, I promised a reward for your patience and trust. The day has arrived; let us find out what it is!
Broken Tales is on Role!
It's no surprise that the shipping logistics of Broken Tales were probably more difficult to handle than making the game itself. In order to better plan for the future and see what we can do digitally, we're always on the lookout for solutions that will allow us to offer something interesting to our players that is a little more exciting and useful than plain digital copies of the books.
Enters Role, a relatively new addition to the virtual tabletop landscape.
I backed their Kickstarter campaign in 2020 and tested the platform alongside other contenders in the scene.
So far, Role is the one I've found to be easier to use, with more useful features, and closer to indie developers.
So I contacted them, and they have expressed a strong desire to include Broken Tales in their library. We are excited to join titles like Dune, Fallout, Homeworld, and Star Trek Adventures, as well as more indie TTRPGs like Bluebeard's Bride, Lancer, and others. Role not only includes DRM-free PDFs of the games, but it also includes customized rooms that are already set up with everything you need to play. In our case, all of the Hunters' Sheets and assets you need, soundtrack included, in order to play Broken Tales.
Starting today, both Broken Tales and The Broken Ones will be available for purchase on Role at a lower price than other channels, and they both include custom rooms for online play.
Backers of this campaign receive them for free, based on the books they have supported. You will receive your keys by email directly from Role in a few hours.

Other Shipping News
Several US/Canadian backers have confirmed receiving an email from Quartermaster Logistics asking them to double-check (and, if necessary, change) their shipping address. If you didn't, and you need to change it, please do the following: 1) Check your spam folder; if nothing is there, 2) Please contact me as soon as possible. I can try to intervene on your behalf, even though we're getting super duper close to the actual shipping date (update from earlier today, we're scheduled to start on January 16).
When it comes to Australia/New Zealand, I've been told that the books have arrived at Aetherworks, which is handling the final leg of the shipment. The company, however, has been closed for the holidays and will reopen soon. Hang in there a little bit longer.

Broken Tales è su Role!
Non è un mistero che la logistica delle spedizioni di Broken Tales sia stata probabilmente più difficile da gestire della realizzazione del gioco stesso.
Per pianificare meglio il futuro e vedere cosa possiamo fare a livello digitale, siamo sempre alla ricerca di soluzioni che ci permettano di offrire ai nostri giocatori qualcosa di un po' più eccitante e utile delle semplici copie digitali dei libri.
Ho testato la piattaforma insieme ad altri suoi competitor. Fra quelli che ho provato, Role è la piattaforma che ho trovato più facile da usare, con più funzioni effettivamente utili e e anche la più vicina agli sviluppatori indie.
Li ho quindi contattati e non ci è voluto molto prima che esprimessero il forte desiderio di includere Broken Tales nella loro libreria di giochi. Siamo entusiasti di affiancarci a titoli come Dune, Fallout, Homeworld e Star Trek Adventures, oltre a TTRPG indie come Bluebeard's Bride, Lancer e altri.
