Hello Broken Ones,
That’s your name now. I’m back with a bunch of news.
Shipping to the US & Canada: now cheaper!
When talking with ShipQuest, the company that will handle the fulfilling of the game (except for Italy, we’ll do that personally there), they told me that if we managed to get to a certain number of backers between the US and Canada we could ship the games to local fulfilling centers, thus making shipping more affordable. Well, we've reached the target number, unless the Community tab on the Kickstarter page is horribly lying. Thank you North America!
The new estimates are:
~ 13€-15€ for the US
~ 20€ for Canada
More details at the bottom of the campaign.
Please note: the estimates are what the word says, and are calculated from the most recent pricelist in ShipQuest’s possession. The game will ship in 2022, and things can still change (maybe for the better).
Add-Ons: now better!
You asked for the possibility to add additional copies of the Core Book, The Broken Ones, or The Broken Ones PDF. They are now all available in the Add-On section of the campaign, with instructions and all. In short: “Manage your pledge” > Add the cost of the Add-On to your current Pledge > Confirm.
At the end of the campaign, you’ll be able to confirm your choices on Backerkit.
OZena the Suffering and Desperate
This is a three-part Scenario and the next Stretch Goal to be included in the Core Book. We’ve already written Part 1, so here is the synopsis for it:
OZena the Suffering and Desperate (inspired by The Wonderful Wizard of Oz)
Freiburg, West of the Great Black Forest, Germany. The regent of the city, Nils Schulz, has invited the Order to investigate the activities of Margareta Westen, a renowned "witch" who is said to carry out strange experiments in a small village not far from the city. Although there is no apparent evidence of any blasphemy, the village of Gelb is shunned by all as its inhabitants are deemed "strange". Over the years, Gelb has welcomed freaks and people affected by various illnesses looking for a safe place to settle down. The Hunters must go to Gelb and find out if Margareta is really the fearsome witch that Nils fears.

OZena la Sofferente e Disperata
Questa è una Storia in tre parti ed è anche il prossimo Stretch Goal, che verrà incluso nel Libro Base. La Parte 1 è già scritta, e questa ne è la sinossi:
Friburgo, Ovest della grande Foresta Nera, Germania. Il reggente della città, Nils Schulz ha invitato l’ordine affinché indaghi sulle attività di Margareta Westen, una rinomata “strega” che si dice compia strani esperimenti in un piccolo villaggio poco lontano dalla città. Anche se non ci sono prove apparenti di alcuna blasfemia, il villaggio di Gelb viene evitato da tutti poiché i suoi abitanti sono ritenuti “strani” e negli anni ha accolto freak e malati in cerca di un posto sicuro in cui vivere. I Cacciatori devono quindi recarsi a Gelb e capire se Margareta è davvero la temibile strega che Nils teme.

Hi all! Tommaso from The World Anvil here! I’ll take care of all updates for this campaign :)
What can I say? In the past few days, looking at the numbers, we expected Broken Tales to start strong, but we didn’t expect it to start this strong! We funded in about 10 minutes, faster than our previous campaign, and as I write, we already unlocked the first two Stretch Goals.
Now, bear with me here: I already know that I will have to play catch up with you guys until things slow down a bit. I’ll do my best to update the campaign (in two languages) and announce what’s next as fast as possible, but I also want to keep the work manageable and updates not too spammy. If you see we unlocked a stretch goal and haven’t announced it yet, I’m either resting or working on it. TL;DR: be patient. We’re doing our best :)
Just so you know: we’ll have more updates at the beginning and end of the campaign; please let me know if you think we’re sending too many (or too few); I’m infamous for abounding with them.

A grim enforcer of law who terrifies people with his mere presence. Babai serves the Order as a Judge, a fearful authority lurking among the shadows.

An ancient and precious mirror belonging to a rich and beautiful queen. The Mirror allows its bearer to witness the past and the future.

Ciao a tutti,
Tommaso di The World Anvil alla tastiera. Tutti gli update che riceverete saranno scritti da me :)
Che dire? Nei giorni scorsi, esaminando i numeri a nostra disposizione, ci eravamo convinti che Broken Tales sarebbe partito bene, ma non così bene come queste prima ora sembra indicare. La campagna è stata finanziata in 10 minuti, più velocemente della campagna precedente, Valraven. Mentre sto scrivendo, abbiamo già sbloccato i primi due Stretch Goals.
In queste prime ore dovrete sopportarmi: so già che fino a quando le cose non rallentano un attimo dovrò rincorrervi con gli aggiornamenti di cosa si è sbloccato alla velocità della luce. Farò del mio meglio per aggiornare la campagna (in due lingue) il più velocemente possibile, ma voglio anche mantenere il ritmo di lavoro affrontabile e la quantità di update non troppo fastidiosa. Se vedete uno Stretch Goal sbloccato che non è ancora stato aggiornato nella campagna i casi sono due: o sto facendo una pausa o ci sto lavorando. TL;DR: abbiate un po’ di pazienza, stiamo facendo il possibile.
Solo perché lo sappiate: per come sono andate le campagne precedenti, ci saranno più update all’inizio alla fine del Kickstarter; se ne mando troppi fatemelo sapere nei commenti, non sono famoso per essere parco di aggiornamenti.

Un antico e prezioso specchio, appartenuto a una ricca e bellissima regina, che permette di vedere persone e luoghi nel futuro e nel passato.

Hello again.
Things are proceeding fast – we’re excited but also super swamped with things to update :)
Before we focus solely on the game, I want to take this opportunity to re-introduce the team to all our backers. I know I’ll run out of characters in the main campaign at some point, and that’s the first section we’ll have to sacrifice to The One that Plots in the Shadows to make space for Stretch Goal descriptions, so it’s good to have it somewhere else too :)

Alberto Tronchi: RPG fan since the beginning of time, has been writing and publishing games with various game publishers. He's half of Black Box Games and the author of Evolution Pulse (A FATE setting, also available in English), Omen (RPG of the Year finalist in 2017), and several other Italian games. Daniel Comerci: the second half of Black Box Games, graphic designer, and illustrator. Annalisa Zaniboni: Freelance translator specialized in Japanese and English. Passionate about Japanese culture, creative writing, and foreign languages. She is trying her hand at writing her first novel and loves traveling.

Le cose si stanno evolvendo velocemente – la cosa ci riempie di felicità ma anche di cose da aggiornare :)
Prima di concentrarci esclusivamente sul gioco, vogliamo usare questa opportunità per reintrodurre il team a tutti i backer della campagna. So già che ad un certo punto finirò i caratteri disponibili in campagna, e la sezione Team di solito è la prima a venir sacrificata a Colui che Trama nell’Ombra per far spazio agli Stretch Goal. Non è una brutta idea averla anche in un update.
