Hello, Broken Ones,
I hope you’re having a good weekend.
First things first, we have unlocked The Needle of Living Shadow, inspired by Peter Pan. This is one of the Order's Treasures, and you’ll find it in The Broken Ones.
Now, we have asked you if you’d like us to offer an art prints add-on. While it was interesting to see which prints were your favorite, only about 3% of the campaign backers expressed interest in them (no reply from the others), so I’m afraid we won’t be able to offer them at this time.
Just so you don’t cry yourself to sleep, we will offer in the pledge manager the possibility to add additional copies of the vinyl jackets with sheets and all, so that you can frame those, if you want, or keep the additional illustrations away from the dreaded Coca-Cola stains cursing every table. We feel this option should cover most of you, and from a production standpoint, it makes sense for us.
Also, the Stretch Goal we unveil today is about the Little Mermaid. But before that...
Bloodwhite
Bloodwhite is our take on Snow White, another story from the Grimm Brothers. You’ll find this Scenario in The Broken Ones.
Germanic Bavaria. Prince Charles Theodore himself summons the Order after the strange death of his nephew Arthur, who died while travelling to the small village of Lohr. Arthur was on a trip to meet his future wife, Bianca of Karenmann. Although official reports speak of a deadly fall from a horse, the young man's body was found barbarously slaughtered, lungs and liver removed, as if a ferocious creature had assaulted him with unnatural violence. Despite the condolences of Bianca's parents, Karl and Elsa Karenmann, Prince Charles wants to shed light on the death of his nephew. It’s no coincidence that Lohr had been tainted by the shadow of witchcraft once before...

Prima di tutto, abbiamo sbloccato l’Ago dell’Ombra Vivente, ispirato a Peter Pan. Sarà un Tesoro dell’Ordine che troverete su The Broken Ones.
Negli scorsi giorni vi abbiamo chiesto se vi piacerebbe che aggiungessimo delle stampe artistiche come add-on. Sebbene sia stato interessante vedere le vostre preferite, solo il 3% dei backer della campagna ha espresso interesse nell’ottenerle (nessuna risposta dagli altri), quindi temo che non abbia senso offrirle per il momento.
Per evitare che vi addormentiate piangendo, abbiamo deciso che nel pledge manager (dopo la campagna) offriremo la possibilità di aggiungere al vostro pledge delle custodie vinile aggiuntive, con tutte le schede dentro. Se vorrete incorniciare quelle potrete farlo, oppure potrete tenere la copie aggiuntive al sicuro dalla portata delle bottiglie di Coca-Cola al tavolo. Baviera Germanica. Il Principe Carlo Teodoro in persona ha convocato l’ordine dopo la strana morte del nipote Arthur, avvenuta nel viaggio al piccolo villaggio di Lohr, per conoscere la sua futura sposa, Bianca di Karenmann. Anche se i rapporti ufficiali parlano di una letale caduta da cavallo, in realtà il corpo del giovane è stato trovato senza polmoni e fegato, come se una creatura feroce ne avesse saggiato le carni con inaudita violenza. Nonostante le condoglianze di Karl ed Elsa Karenmann, il Principe Carlo vuole vederci chiaro sulla morte del nipote e dissipare le ombre di streghe e riti oscuri che già in passato hanno visto il paese di Lohr essere teatro di una imponente caccia alle streghe.

I’m glad you liked the Q&A video format, so here’s Part 2:
In this one I answer the following questions:
Can you please include a narrative solo mode?
Can you talk more about the OSR rules in "The Broken Ones"?
Can you give a little more information about Dark Presences? Are they plot ideas not as fleshed out as Scenarios, elements meant to add to a Scenario to mix it up, or something else?
What are common pitfalls that people hit when they're trying to make TRPGs? How do you balance out mechanics so that they're intuitive and engaging?
What inspired Broken Tales? When writing the scenarios what were important points that the writers needed to always integrate?
Were there any stories/characters that the developers were adamant would NOT make good Dark Presence/Hunters? Of the characters developed which is each person on the dev team's individual favorite?
Have you heard the folk lore of the HODAG? A creature that eats bad children.
Will there be a campaign mode?
Can the characters die? How much is luck involved in the mechanics of the system?

Wonderbethlem
Wonderbethlem is the Broken Tales version of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, by Lewis Carroll. It’s one of the Core Book Scenarios.
The Duke of Norfolk has made a confidential request of the Order. Five months ago, his daughter Alys was taken to Wonder, the Bethlem of York, the most renowned asylum in all of England. Under the guidance of a mysterious director, the Duke hoped for her quick recovery. After a month, Alys' letters to the family became increasingly delusional, until they ceased altogether. From what Alys wrote, Wonder is hell on earth, a place where strange presences move in dark rooms, aided by an evil will. The Hunters' duty is clear: save Alys and shed light on what is happening at the asylum.

Il Bethlem delle Meraviglie è la nostra versione di Alice nel Paese delle Meraviglie, di Lewis Carroll. Troverete questa Storia nel Libro Base.
ll Duca di Norfok in persona si è rivolto all’Ordine per una richiesta che deve rimanere segreta. Cinque mesi orsono, sua figlia Alys è stata portata al Belthem di York, il più rinomato manicomio di tutta l’Inghilterra. Sotto la guida di una misteriosa direttrice, il Duca sperava in un veloce rinsavimento della figlia. Dopo il primo mese, le lettere di Alys alla famiglia si sono fatte sempre più terrorizzate e deliranti, fino a cessare bruscamente. Dalle parole vergate da Alys, Meraviglia è l'inferno sulla terra, dove strane presenza si muovono in stanze buie sorrette da una volontà malvagia. La richiesta per i Cacciatori è chiara: salvare Alys e gettare una luce sugli oscuri accadimenti che avvengono a Meraviglia.

Hello, Broken Ones!
First things first, yesterday I sent out contradictory information about the UV upgrade to vinyl jackets – forgive me, campaign fatigue is creeping in and I haven’t been able to strike a deal with a demon in exchange for higher alertness, yet. I can confirm that the UV upgrade is in the bag!
Secondly, we have unlocked The Emperor's Unlikely Tailor, a Dark Presence by Guido Campanini, inspired by The Emperor's New Clothes.
You can see all the excellent submitted memes here: ENGLISH and ITALIAN album. Since people seem to have fun with this, I’ll keep adding them until you keep’em coming, because why not! But be ready, I’m preparing another challenge for next week.

Strange news comes from distant Iceland: the great Laki volcano erupted, to the dismay of the poor inhabitants of the many small villages on the island. Few have managed to escape the fury of fire and ash. Einar, a humble woodcutter, tells of strange happenings in his village and of an ancient power that has apparently possessed his two beloved children. The Dano-Norwegian union has sent a relief expedition to the small village of Skógarbær, but after more than a month with no news to speak of, the imperial crown has turned directly to the Papacy. Could the Devil himself be behind the terrible famine that has befallen Iceland?

Ciao, Infranti!
Prima di tutto, ieri ho mandato delle informazioni contraddittorie sull’upgrade UV alle custodie vinile. La stanchezza inizia a farsi sentire e non sono ancora stato in grado di vendere l’anima ad un demone in cambio di un bonus all’allerta. Stupidaggini a parte, posso confermare che l’upgrade UV è sbloccato!
In secondo luogo, abbiamo sbloccato anche L’improbabile Sarto dell’Imperatore, una Oscura Presenza di Guido Campanini, ispirata ai Vestiti Nuovi dell’Imperatore.

Visto che la gente sembra divertirsi con questa cosa, continuerò ad aggiungerli finché me li mandate, ma tenetebvi pronti! Sto già elaborando una nuova sfida per la settimana prossima.

Q&A e Stampe Artistiche (?)
Mi era venuta in mente l’idea di fare un live stream in inglese per rispondere alle varie domande della community. Dopo averci riflettutto, mi son però reso conto che abbiamo backer su talmente tanti fusi diversi che non riuscirei mai a beccare un momento propizio per tutti.
Ho quindi deciso di registrare un video, dove risponderò alle domande che sono arrivate nel frattempo. Idealmente vorrei registrarlo all’inizio della prossima settimana, quindi recatevi a questo indirizzo:

L’Isola della Fame
L’Isola della Fame è una storia basata su Hansel e Gretel dei Fratelli Grimm. La troverete inclusa in The Broken Ones.
Strane notizie giungono dalla lontana Islanda, il grande vulcano Laki ha scatenato tutta la sua potenza e come una punizione divina si è abbattuta sui poveri uomini e donne dei tanti piccoli villaggi dell’isola. Pochi sono riusciti a fuggire dalla furia di fuoco e cenere ma uno in particolare, l’umile taglialegna Einar, racconta di strani accadimenti nel suo villaggio e di un antico potere che a quanto pare ha preso possesso dei suoi due amati figli. Una prima spedizione di soccorso è stata inviata al piccolo villaggio di Skógarbær, ma dopo più di un mese, nessuna notizia è giunta e dopo i deliranti racconti di Einar, la corona imperiale si rivolta direttamente al Papato per capire se dietro alla terribile carestia che si è abbattuta in Islanda ci sia la mano del Diavolo in persona. Una piccola nave ha quindi preso il largo verso un’Islanda ancora avvolta dai fumi della furia di Laki, e voi, Cacciatori prescelti per questo incarico dovrete dipanare questa oscura coltre di nebbia.

In Broken Tales, Sherazade in an Emissary of The One that Plots in the Shadows. She weaves dreams and nightmares alike and seems to know the Hunters very well. Now that we unlocked her Scenario, Daniel illustrated her for us:
A Smile in the Darkness is a Scenario based on The Little Match Girl by Andersen. It is included in the Broken Tales Core Book.
The Hunters are sent to Paris, where someone has been setting fires in the city for several weeks. While initially the culprits were identified as rioters who opposed the monarchy, some episodes suggest a very different cause and attract the interest of the Order. Father Adrien, a humble church servant who works with the poor and the needy, has heard stories involving the strange laughter of children and dark presences that seize all those who have a soul to lose…

Prima di tutto grazie per aver sbloccato l’upgrade UV alle custodie vinilee il Team Bonus! Quest'ultimo in particolare ci darà l’incentivo per fare ancora meglio del solito sia per lo sviluppo dei contenuti “core” che per tutti gli Stretch Goal che stiamo sbloccando. I Cacciatori vengono inviati a Parigi, dove da ormai alcune settimane qualcuno sta appiccando vari incendi in città. Mentre in un primo momento i colpevoli sono stati identificati nei rivoltosi e malcontenti che si oppongono alla monarchia, alcuni episodi che hanno coinvolto persone qualunque lasciano adito a una causa ben diversa e di interesse per l’Ordine. Padre Adrien, un umile servo della chiesa che presta servizio tra i poveri e i bisognosi, ha raccolto storie che parlano di strane risa di bambini e oscure presenze che, dalle ombre, ghermiscono tutti coloro che hanno un’anima da perdere…
