Hi there, Broken Ones,
We took a small break but we’re back today with plenty of news. First things first, let me correct myself: the French translations are thanks to our Discord user El Réalisator. Somewhat I managed to spell it wrong in two different ways in the previous update.
He also just finished the Quickstart translation in French. Find it HERE (and please remember, these are non-official translations).
I’m also happy to say that the Art Print survey is going strong. Numbers look good but as promised we’ll keep it open until Thursday 20, 8 PM EEST. You can, and should, express your preferences on the prints we’ll include.
One of the next big Stretch Goals is The Knight with a Hundred Heads, a new Hunter inspired by The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. He comes with a Tutorial Scenario and a full-fledged Solo Mode for Broken Tales. This is a massive Stretch Goal both in size and scope, and it will be included in The Broken Ones. Read more about the Solo Mode here.
We believe it’s within reach, so Daniel already went ahead and illustrated it!
I Don’t Believe
I Don’t Believe is our rendition of Peter and Wendy, by James Matthew Barrie. You know Peter as Peter Pan, but here is where our lawyers step in to point out that we are NOT, in any way, using the Peter Pan play as inspiration for this Broken Tale. Just read ahead to understand why.
Amidst the fumes and vapors of London, the disappearances of some children have led to the general discontent of the working class. It is only after the disappearance of Gwendolyn of Carnarvon, daughter of an aristocrat, that the royal family determines to contact the Order. Strange reports are heard in the city's alleys: a young gang of thugs is carrying out appalling acts against modernity itself, sabotaging the large factories of London. The macabre discovery of the bodies of some members of the security services, who engaged in a clash with the young terrorists, is the straw that broke the camel's back. Is this somehow connected to the disappearance of young Gwendolyn?

Ieri ho fatto una piccola pausa ma torno oggi con una carrellata di novità. Prima di tutto, mi devo correggere. Le traduzioni francesi sono dovute al nostro utente Discord El Réalisator. Nel precedente update sono riscito a scrivere male il suo nick in due modi diversi.
El Réalisator ha anche completato la traduzione francese del Quickstart, che TROVATE QUI (ricordatevi che queste sono traduzioni non ufficiali).
Sono inoltre felice di confermare che il sondaggio sulle Stampe Artistiche sta andando bene. I numeri sono positivi, ma come ho già menzionato lo terremo aperto fino alle 19:00 italiane di Giovedì 20. Avete ancora la possibilità di votare le vostre stampe preferite, che saranno inserite nella selezione.
Uno dei prossimi Stretch Goal include Il Cavaliere con Cento Teste, un nuovo Cacciatore ispirato a La Leggenda di Sleepy Hollow. Arriverà con una Storia Tutorial e una modalità per giocare Broken Tales in solitaria. Per quantità di materiali aggiunti e paginazione, crediamo che questo Stretch renderà l’edizione fisica di The Broken Ones ancora più preziosa. Non Credo è la nostra versione di Peter e Wendy, di James Matthew Barrie.
Conoscete quel Peter come Peter Pan, ma qui è dove gli avvocati ci consigliano di specificare che in NESSUN MODO questa Storia sarà basata sull’opera teatrale omonima, che ha una storia travagliata. Se volete capire perché, leggete la sinossi.
Londra, tra fumi e vapori delle tante fabbriche che stanno sorgendo, le sparizioni di alcuni bambini hanno portato a un malcontento generalizzato da parte di molte famiglie di lavoratori, ma è solo dopo la sparizione di Gwendolyn diCarnarvon, figlia di un titolato nobile, che la famiglia reale in persona decide di rivolgersi all’Ordine. Strane voci girano nei sobborghi di Londra, dove sembra che una giovane banda di teppisti compia atti di vero e proprio terrorismo contro il lento incedere della modernità, incarnato dalle grandi fabbriche. Ciò che ha terrorizzato profondamente la Corona è il macabro ritrovamento di alcuni membri dei servizi di vigilanza, che secondo alcune voci hanno ingaggiato uno scontro con i giovani terroristi. Arti spezzati e cuori esplosi nei petti divelti sono lo spettacolo a cui gli investigatori della Corona si sono trovati d’innanzi. In gran segreto è quindi stata affidata l’indagine ai Cacciatori dell’Ordine con lo scopo di gettare luce sul pericolo che minaccia la città e portare in salvo la giovane Carnarvon.

Hi, Broken Ones,
As we enter the last week of the campaign, I have another announcement for today. It is my pleasure to introduce our final Social Goal: The Mothers of Fate, a Dark Presence by Francesco Panitti, inspired by many stories' fairy godmothers.
Francesco is the designer behind some of the content for Broken Compass, Nightfell, Unglorious, and other unannounced Kickstarter projects.
We’ll unlock his Social Goal with...
Broken Doodles!
These are the rules:
Set a 60-seconds timer on your smartphone.
Pick up a pen or a pencil with the wrong hand. If you’re right-handed use the left and vice versa.
Start the timer. You now have 60 seconds to drawa scene from a fairytale of your choosing.
When the timer is over, put down the pen or pencil, take a picture of your masterpiece and share it with us on Discord. You can use the #broken-memes channel
We’ll share all the submissions on this Facebook album (mirrored also on The World Anvil Publishing page). People can comment below trying to guess it or just generally appreciate your masterpiece. I want to see at least 50 of these before the campaign is over.
Additional tips:
The only thing you can write on the image is “Broken Tales”, always with the wrong hand. Writing that won’t count towards the 60-seconds rule, so do it at the end. If you write it, it helps us, but no pressure (WRITE IT PLS).
Don’t cheat, we’re doing this for fun.
Bonus points if your fairytale is not an obvious one, but people can still guess it.
Note: if you're ambidextrous, either close your eyes, use your feet, put the pencil in your mouth, or be creative in other ways. Make it hard for yourself :P

Queste sono le regole:

I’m happy to say that A LOT of you are now answering the Art Prints Survey. I will pester you with it until the deadline on Thursday, so make sure you are one of the good guys!
Japanese Quickstart, and French Sheets
Thanks to the incredible work of Fel, one of our Discord community members, the Quickstart is now available in Japanese, and IT’S GLORIOUS.
You can download it from here and forward it to your Japanese friends, or just look at it in awe because he did all this work without the original layout files.
We have good news also for French speakers, as El Réalisador, another of our Discord users, has translated all players’ material in, well, French. The rest of the Quickstart might also be available in the next few days.
It is very cool to see the community being so excited about the game, we hope you make good use of these non-official translations.
Solo Mode
Many of you have asked for a Solo Mode for Broken Tales. While we have solo modes for all our other Monad Echo games, we had to think about this one for a bit – and we finally cracked it.
At 84000€, we’ll introduce Untold Stories, a new mode to expand Broken Tales to solo games. In addition to the normal rules, Untold Stories will allow you to create Hints Tables linked to the chosen Hunter. This way, you’ll be able to explore their past, starting from their Background and Descriptors. Who is, really, the mysterious boy that deceived James the Swordsman? Is Baba Yaga really the most powerful of witches? Play Untold Stories and find out!
The Solo Mode also comes with a training Scenario based on The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, and a brand new Hunter, The Knight with a Hundred Heads!
This Stretch Goal is included in The Broken Ones.

Quickstart in Giapponese e Schede in Francese
Grazie all’incredibile lavoro di Fel, uno dei membri della nostra Community Discord, il Quickstart è ora disponibile anche in Giapponese, ed è UNA FIGATA.
Lo potete scaricare da qui, girarlo ai vostri amici giapponesi (di cui, non dubitiamo, sarete provvisti), o semplicemente potete ammirarlo nella sua bellezza. Fel ha fatto questo lavoro senza nemmeno avere i file di impaginazione originali!
Abbiamo buone notizie anche per chi parla Francese. El Réalisador, un altro dei nostri utenti Discord, ha tradotto le Schede Personaggio e le reference in, beh, in Francese. Il resto del Quickstart è in lavorazione.
È veramente entusiasmante vedere la community così in hype per il gioco, e speriamo che possiate fare buon uso di queste traduzioni non ufficiali.
Modalità in solitaria
Molti ci hanno chiesto di introdurreuna modalità in solitaria per Broken Tales (Solo Mode). Nonostante i nostri precedenti giochi Monad Echo abbiano tutti una modalità in solo, abbiamo dovuto prenderci qualche giorno per capire come potrebbe funzionare qui – e finalmente abbiamo la soluzione!
A 84000€ sbloccheremo Storie Mai Raccontate: una modalità che espande Broken Tales al gioco solitario. In aggiunta alle normali regole, Storie Mai Raccontate vi permetterà di creare delle apposite tabelle Indizi, strettamente legate alla storia personale del Cacciatore scelto. In questo modo potrete esplorare elementi inediti del passato di ogni Cacciatore, basandovi sul suo Background e i suoi Descrittori. Chi è davvero il misterioso ragazzino che ha ingannato Giacomo lo Spadaccino? Baba Yaga è davvero la strega più potente di tutte? Queste e altre avventure vi aspettano nelle Storie Mai Raccontate.
In aggiunta, questo Stretch Goal sblocca anche Il Cavaliere con Cento Teste, che è sia una Storia Tutorial che un nuovo Cacciatore basato sulla Leggenda di Sleepy Hollow.
La Modalità in solitaria è uno Stretch Goal contenuto in The Broken Ones.

We heard you. You get a lot of Kickstarter updates, and you want another chance to express your opinion on Art Prints. So I’ll keep this short: DO YOU WANT ART PRINTS?
A few more details, because I couldn't be brief if my life depended on it:
If you answered the previous survey, answer again.
We’ll keep this open until Thursday 20, 8PM EEST. If you want Art prints, find the time to clickon the link. We’ll make a decision after the deadline.
The bundle will now include 15 prints, selected by the community, for 20€. Because many illustrations are not ready yet, we’ll ask for your input again down the line.
The art prints will be printed on different paper and will have a different finish compared to the sheets.
You’ll still have the possibility to add extra vinyl jackets from the pledge manager

Hello, Broken Ones,
I hope you’re having a good weekend.
First things first, we have unlocked The Needle of Living Shadow, inspired by Peter Pan. This is one of the Order's Treasures, and you’ll find it in The Broken Ones.
Now, we have asked you if you’d like us to offer an art prints add-on. While it was interesting to see which prints were your favorite, only about 3% of the campaign backers expressed interest in them (no reply from the others), so I’m afraid we won’t be able to offer them at this time.
Just so you don’t cry yourself to sleep, we will offer in the pledge manager the possibility to add additional copies of the vinyl jackets with sheets and all, so that you can frame those, if you want, or keep the additional illustrations away from the dreaded Coca-Cola stains cursing every table. We feel this option should cover most of you, and from a production standpoint, it makes sense for us.
Also, the Stretch Goal we unveil today is about the Little Mermaid. But before that...
Bloodwhite
Bloodwhite is our take on Snow White, another story from the Grimm Brothers. You’ll find this Scenario in The Broken Ones.
Germanic Bavaria. Prince Charles Theodore himself summons the Order after the strange death of his nephew Arthur, who died while travelling to the small village of Lohr. Arthur was on a trip to meet his future wife, Bianca of Karenmann. Although official reports speak of a deadly fall from a horse, the young man's body was found barbarously slaughtered, lungs and liver removed, as if a ferocious creature had assaulted him with unnatural violence. Despite the condolences of Bianca's parents, Karl and Elsa Karenmann, Prince Charles wants to shed light on the death of his nephew. It’s no coincidence that Lohr had been tainted by the shadow of witchcraft once before...

Prima di tutto, abbiamo sbloccato l’Ago dell’Ombra Vivente, ispirato a Peter Pan. Sarà un Tesoro dell’Ordine che troverete su The Broken Ones.
Negli scorsi giorni vi abbiamo chiesto se vi piacerebbe che aggiungessimo delle stampe artistiche come add-on. Sebbene sia stato interessante vedere le vostre preferite, solo il 3% dei backer della campagna ha espresso interesse nell’ottenerle (nessuna risposta dagli altri), quindi temo che non abbia senso offrirle per il momento.
Per evitare che vi addormentiate piangendo, abbiamo deciso che nel pledge manager (dopo la campagna) offriremo la possibilità di aggiungere al vostro pledge delle custodie vinile aggiuntive, con tutte le schede dentro. Se vorrete incorniciare quelle potrete farlo, oppure potrete tenere la copie aggiuntive al sicuro dalla portata delle bottiglie di Coca-Cola al tavolo. Crediamo che questa opzione possa funzionare sia per voi che per noi.

Baviera Germanica. Il Principe Carlo Teodoro in persona ha convocato l’ordine dopo la strana morte del nipote Arthur, avvenuta nel viaggio al piccolo villaggio di Lohr, per conoscere la sua futura sposa, Bianca di Karenmann.
